Recondition and Rapid Charge your Two-Way Radio Battery in a single process in approximately one hour with the Negative Pulse Reconditioning Charger. The patented negative pulse technology will keep the battery memory free and increase the useful life of the battery by as much as 3 times.
This charger uses patented technology which combines a high-charge current with negative current pulses. During the charge process, oxygen is given off and accumulates as bubbles attached to the cell plates. These gas bubbles reduce the effective surface area and raise the internal impedance of the battery. A momentary high-amplitude discharge pulse reverses the chemical process and strips the bubbles from the cell plates. The discharge pulse also has a relaxing effect on the battery, increasing charge acceptance and allowing a high-current fast charge at a lower temperature.
This charger also conditions during charging, the charge on a battery can be safely topped off at any time. It is no longer necessary to wait until the battery is fully discharged before recharging. By using our charger, memory in the battery can be systematically reversed. In most instances, a significant increase in run time of the battery will be observed after a relatively short period of time.
The technology used in this Reconditioning Charger will instantly detect a defective battery...even if there is one defective cell!! No longer will a green LED mislead you into a false sense of security in believing that the battery is “good to go” whereas, in fact, it is defective and will not hold a charge.
The Reconditioning Charger employs Inflection Point Cut-off as its primary termination method. This method terminates the charge as soon as the battery reaches 100% capacity. Multiple secondary termination methods, including negative delta voltage and a timer are present to ensure fail safe and timely termination of the charge.
On completion of the charge sequence, the controller enters a maintenance mode. This is not a low-current trickle charge, but the same high-current pulse used during rapid charging. The difference is, in the maintenance mode the rate is one pulse every 30 seconds, versus the rate of one pulse per second during normal charging. The charge/discharge pulses help prevent dendrite formation and maintain proper crystal structure of the cell plates. In the maintenance mode, there is no heat generation caused by overcharge. The battery can be safely left on the charger for extended periods.
